So the dog and pony show that is the Kavanaugh hearing is being extended into next week (instead of voting on Thursday) so a woman with nothing more than a political ax to grind can spin a completely unsubstantiated story from thirty-five years ago. Democrats are holding things up for no other reason than for this show to become even doggier and ponier on Monday.
I truly, TRULY hope many of the non-rabid Democrats still quietly waiting in Middle America for their party to come back to them are watching and see this for nothing more than the Far Left pandering that it is. When this falls flat on its face (and it will) I hope many more of them take this opportunity to #WalkAway and never look back at a party that not only no longer stands for their values but has completely lost its mind.

What makes you think that anyone that is a Democrat today is going to be swayed away from their party by this... Thomas and Bork did nothing to push Dems away...

I anticipate there will be more women to come forth....sort of like happened with Trump. It's the DNC playbook. Just watch.

I didn't say that I think it will, I specifically said "hope".
Far more people are far more informed and far more polarized than back then. Many are living in echo chambers, but many are not. Back then there was no vehicle for something like #WalkAway so movements like that rarely left the local level.
Today voters have access to information on people like Franken and Ellison as well as being able to see trends in where parties are going (as opposed to what their literature says). It doesn't mean they will or they won't, but at least it gives room for hope.

If the FBI were still legit, and they're not, the attorney general at the president's direction would do a full court press and recover every Twitter post, every retweet and every Facebook post or response by the Accuser. Then this information would be shown in the session to paint her as an operative of the opposition.
But sadly, Sessions will not do a fricking thing.
I feel like this is going to fall apart. This whole charade has been their hole card, the ace up their sleeve for months, waiting until all the chips we're on the table. Without having anything to counter the Accuser, the only thing left is the word of the Accused.
Flake, Collins and Murkowski will vote against confirmation.
And our Republic, and the ideals it once stood for, will die on the floor of the Senate.

I would argue that people are actually less informed now than they were then... At least then, the MSM was attempting to show as little bias as possible but today they are feeding the people what they want to feed them...
Very few people are actively searching out opinions contrary to their long held beliefs...

Not only will Kavanaugh be confirmed, but he will never forget the smear campaign dems have done to him. The depths they have sunk to and how they have convinced half the population to tell his daughters their father is a rapist. Remember all that when this relatively young judge is confirmed for a lifetime appointment to one of the highest positions in the land.

So I ask again: Based on what? A one-sided story from thirty-five years ago from a woman with zero corroboration, zero evidence and at least one politically-motivated ax to grind?

I disagree. They may not be well-informed or informed solely via confirmation biases, but there seems to be far more people today that know at least minimal information about events than say... 30 years ago.
If this is a good thing or not is an endless debate though.
