You do realize that congress has “the power of the purse”. You can blame the entire cluster frick on one person or multiple presidents but the bottom line is politicians spent more and more to keep being elected. That and getting rich from kickbacks. Both sides of the isle.

JFC. Have some accountability.

Thomas Massie called out the spending, twice, and Trump ran his fricking mouth about it.

Either Trump owns his ridiculous spending, or he's the most incompetent president we've ever had.

Yes and all of the previous presidents and congresses were pure and not liable for the debt. At least we have one trying to get us back on path now. Which one prior even tried? Good luck giving even one answer chief.

Of course they are. That's the point.

Have you even went through the CR? Have you looked into the spending that has been halted? Do you realize we had less than 2 months since the new admin took place? Do you realize that the DOGE audit is still taking place? It is hard to budget when you are still uncovering scams and government waste while having the judicial filing with you every step of the way. Bring something better than what you are bringing to make an argument.

Yes, and it's nearly indistinguishable from Biden's.

So, at the same time, Trump has saved the country in two months and also hasn't had time to do anything in two months.

You people need to get on the same page with these bullshite talking points.

Trade deficits are a byproduct of wealthy nations

Nice. Not even hiding your communistic roots. Never claim to be a conservative again
quote:

The U.S. Trade Deficit: How Much Does It Matter? - Council on Foreign Relations

A growing U.S. economy also often leads to a larger deficit, since consumers have more income to buy more goods from abroad.

quote:

An economist explains why trade deficits aren't a bad thing - World Economic Forum

A country like the U.S. runs an annual trade deficit with a partner country when Americans buy more goods and services from the partner than they sell to it. As a result, money flows out of the U.S. to the country, which sounds bad.

But that’s not the end of the story. Those foreigners with the trade surplus – let’s say in China – now have extra saving that needs to be put to work. A lack of productive investment opportunities at home means they look to other countries – like the U.S. – to profitably use their money.

quote:

Why does the United States run a trade deficit? - Washington International Trade Association

Americans borrow from countries abroad (such as China) with excess savings. Such borrowing enables Americans to enjoy a higher rate of economic growth than would be obtained if the United States had to rely solely on domestic savings. This boosts U.S. consumption and demand for imports, producing a trade deficit.

Lets keeping pumping up our arch enemy, because it allows us to enjoy a richer lifestyle

For now

WTF?

You have got to be kidding. How uninformed are you?
quote:

The Tariff Act of 1789 was the second bill signed by President George Washington imposing a tariff of about 5% on nearly all imports

quote:

National labor unions began to form in the post-Civil War Era. The Knights of Labor emerged as a major force in the late 1880s

Tariffs was everyones best friends. Then we got the income tax. Which the unions loved. So they could end tariffs
quote:

By examining what national leaders and rank-and-file members of trade unions said and did about taxation, labor organizations played a significant part in helping to establish a fairer and more effective modern system of taxation.

They should be rich right?

No. Their currency is shite and their economy is unstable. It's not comparable to a developed country with a real currency, let alone the #1 economy with the #1 currency
