That's actually a pretty cool looking building from the outside. shame it cannot be saved.

C'est la vie.

Would love if God Himself smited them if they attempted to tear it down.

Maybe God should have gotten out in front of the problem and inspired more locals to attend church.

It is a cool looking building. They should put a brewery in it.

When they die and are denied entry at the Gates of St. Peter, they better not ask why!

If the building is vacant, it shouldn't be a big deal unless it's been marked as some sort of historical landmark.

You have a mental illness. God does not smite. People kill people. Free will and all that.

Yep. They have to realize that those parishes that spend the most money on fancy churches get in Heaven before everyone else. Which book of the Bible was that? Mark? John?

"And, lo, I say to thee. Those who incurth thine debt to construct the grandest of material buildings shall haveth dibs on Heavenly lots."

Churches like this one are more than just a place of worship. They are cultural cornerstones and represent more. Tearing one like this down, (admittedly it isn't the most beautiful, but it is still historical) hurts the heart. It is a symbol itself to do so.

Maybe some Catholics should do something with it

Yes, the Church is vacant, but I can't help but see this as a metaphor.

If the church was being used, I would side with them. But you can't be mad at developers trying to clear wasted space. That's just just the natural order of things.

You fricking protestants are so much better than everyone else because you set up in school cafeterias. So much more reverent to the True Meaning of The Church.

Savage. And yes the story is a fricking disgrace and an indictment of every party involved.
