One of my ancestors came to New Orleans in 1719 on the prostitute ship " La Mutine". She wasn't actually a prostitute as much as she was a very promiscuous teenager who hated her step mother.
Eventually, the step mother and madame of the local brothel ( she was bad for her business apparently) , conspired to get her shipped out of town.
Her name was Anne Francoise Roland.
