He’s in Baghdad - I know nothing about the geography there, or how far he is from where this base is.

Is about 200 miles due North of Baghdad. Kurdish territory if memory serves correct

Our son was at Balad AirBase during surge and post surge...not a fun time. About 60 miles north, northwest of Baghdad
