according to EIA....Europe accounts for 49% of Russia's oil exports and 74% of its natty gas exports.

That's a lot of dough to miss out on in the short run. Trade works both ways.

Looks like you're one of those that thinks the EU holds the stronger hand.

Almost, yes.

But only after they dug their own hole and refused to practice good governance.

Tried to tell my family, “some people in this world, mean what they say!” Putin is one of these. If he tells you he is going to punch you in the face if you do this, then brace yourself. You go ahead and do it, then, Putin will deliver!

Well, when you go green and abandon fossil fuels as much as the European nations have then this was inevitable. Turn it off and learn a hard lesson, a lesson these green new deal idiots need to learn in the USA.

Russia makes up to $800M a DAY selling gas to Europe. Taking that away cannot be overlooked. It will bite. It’s a bold move and one Putin seems ready to make unless concessions are made (perhaps quietly).

Nonetheless, shutting off gas and oil would kill Europe. They simply just can’t find enough oil quickly from Africa, the US, the Arabs. And they can build all the wind mills and solar panels they want, that’s not a real world solution. However, Russia will keep selling to China and India, two burgeoning behemoth economies. While the rates will be lower and the amount less, there will still be a good revenue stream.

FJB
first of all, you're an uber moron if you think potatus has any say whatsoever. furthermore, we aren't responsible for Europeans. their leaders are responsible. wtf is wrong with you?

One of Europe's problems is they didnt invest enough in new LNG plants to accept imports from ships. Their crude problem can be solved a lot faster than their natty gas problem.

But maybe this event will create enough political will to invest in getting energy from other sources.

I mean this all seems really bad and no matter what topic I know it seems the Potato admin could frick up something as mundane as boiling water.

But let’s put it all in proper perspective. We haven’t had to see a mean tweet in over 1 year. Isn’t it all worth it!?!

ME already playing footsie with Russia and China on the petroyuan. Russia has alot more available customers than EU has suppliers. You can print euros but not commodities

This is exactly what the WEF and their political minions running Europe want for Europe one way or the other. This works out nicely because they can blame Putin and pretend this was not their objection in the first place.

From what I've seen, value of ruble is back to where it was before sanctions. Somebody is buying lots and lots of rubles.

Putin has outs. Europe does not. Not that hard. I fear the day of the USD is about to go the way of the dinosaur. Gold/silver may explode

Maybe, we'll see about that. But if he does do it, you'll find out what the Europeans are really made of because I can tell you this. I don't know one single American that would allow one single drop of American blood to be spilled over there.
