He is a smart guy. When he is being serious, he has opinions well-worth considering. You learn to spot when he is discussing and when he is just having fun. More art than science though. Years later and I still get it wrong sometimes.

You have to know the right buttons to push. Everyone is different, and it takes a little creativity sometimes.
