May banks are doing outreach to the communities they are present in with seminars and such. A great way to spread financial education, going forward, is to start non-profits and advertise heavily. A friend and I are doing this.
Would like to do something similar in my area.

This is what built that success.

Now 16 scholars are helping to set the record straight by exploring the true ties between 19th century economic development and a brutal system of human bondage in the 2016 book Slavery’s Capitalism: A New History of American Economic Development.
Contrary to popular belief, the small farmers of New England weren’t alone responsible for establishing America’s economic position as capitalism expanded. Rather, the hard labor of slaves in places like Alabama, South Carolina, and Mississippi needs to be kept in view as well. In fact, more than half of the nation’s exports in the first six decades of the 19th century consisted of raw cotton, almost all of it grown by slaves, according to the book, which was edited by Sven Beckert, the Laird Bell Professor of History at Harvard University and visiting professor at HBS, as well as Seth Rockman, Associate Professor of History at Brown University.
So Cotton exports in the early 1800's are what built America? GFY

When you can, link us to the non-profit and I'll see if there is something similar here.

I guess it depends on how you look at this. If we're talking about parties, yeah I think it's one big game

I think it is sad that those that have fallen behind still look for politics to bring them up. The opportunity for upward mobility doesn't rest with a political party, but with the desire of one's self. Sacrifice and patience goes a long way, that's what my grandmother did and several of her children are worth millions.
My friend Richard is a self styled country boy from Alabama. His mother raised 6 kids alone, working 3 jobs after their dad split.
Growing up in the South, I had more in common with Black Country folks than I did urban white people.

Trump could frick up our foreign policy and environment but if he can convince his racist base to like black people and black communities start benefiting from two parent homes again..
Ill vote for him. Hell i'll steal an ID and vote for him twice

I wonder if this is the kind of conversation that the left wanted to start.

Very underrated and thorough post.
The media and Dems are the black communities worst enemy, but on the flip side, the black communities see them as allies to fight against the "racist" system.
That is no way to go through life.

You are the perfect example of why I no longer vote Democrat.
It is his supposed "racist base" that has been pushing for this for a very long time.
You see, many of us actually LIVE in diverse areas. We don't just talk about it and march on TV. We actually LIVE it.
It does us NO GOOD to have ANY portion of our population dependent on the government and living in broken homes. Black, white, brown, etc.
The value of my work and community are directly affected by your policies. I've seen this first hand. Yet when we point out what it would take to improve this, you and your ilk come out with this shite because you know you need to keep them poor to keep the votes.
I cannot wait until the day people like you are irrelevant. I hope it is soon. You are nothing but a drain on society.
