If anyone is interested in listening to local reporters try to unpack the accusations.

Here's a LINK to Talk 99.5 in Birmingham.

It's been fun so far this morning.

Only listened for a few minutes this morning, but was surprised to hear Matt Murphy being critical of Moore. I rarely listen to him, so maybe he didn't like Moore to begin with.

The callers though. Yeesh.

The pretty much all despise him.

Leland said he was going to vote for his producer, AJ, yesterday.

It's mind blowing to me that in this day and age with the repeated public reveals of rape and sexual assault accusations being proven hoaxes that people will continue to believe without question any accusation, no matter how flimsy or old.

And then people wonder why girls don't come forward with their accusations.

Maybe if they came forward about 30 years earlier, it would be a different story.

What proven hoax sexual assault allegations have there been that involve multiple (as in 4) separate and distinct people? Honest question, I have only heard about the single accuser hoaxes.

Waiting 30 years and making them 3 weeks before an election is not great for your credibility.

Did you read the story, investigators heard rumors and tracked the women down. It’s not like they went to the WP with the story.

Have you ever read about The Salem Witch Trials?

Maybe, but then again maybe not. LOTS of women are met with doubt when they come forward with these allegations, no matter when they do.

A Bama student recently killed herself over the treatment she received after reporting an incident the day after the alleged encounter with a prominent local businessman. There are countless other examples out there.

Google "mattress girl" and "University of Virginia Jackie".

Hahaha.

Ralph from Remlap just called Ani a pompous bitch and she laid the smack down on him.

Oh this is awesome.

Scott Stantis (political cartoonist) is on now.

women need to develop inner strength and not worry about doubt or push back.

Can we agree that a 14 year old girl in 1979 rural Alabama didn’t have a lot of power to come forward against a powerful man?

I concur.

What's more, this shite still goes on today.

Hemphead and I both have first hand experience with corrupt Sheriff Mike Blakely in North Alabama. That man and his family have been running their schemes up there for decades with no repercussions.

Come on. Rape shield laws, which have been in existence since the 1970's, effectively insulate women from public shame when making these allegations. Meanwhile, men who are accused by women have their names pasted on television and newspapers as rapists, ruining their reputations regardless of the outcome.

After the Duke lacrosse case, the UVA rape hoax and the mattress girl case at Columbia, we should all look at these accusations with doubt, especially given the fact that they're 40 years old and released days before an election involving the accused.
