Pretty good take, I know he’s not this board’s favorite, but he’s a free speech fundamentalist, which the left, and some on the right are sorely lacking. Basically, STFU about finding offense in everything, especially things that occurred years & years ago. Stop being whining little bitches.

He’s a smarmy a-hole, but his viewpoints on the Stalinist behavior that is quickly becoming the norm in the American Left, radical Islam and free speech are legit.

I would take great pleasure in coming face to face with Maher for no reason other than to get in a few good swings on his smug, pretentious arse.
But he's not the typical enemy by any means. He's not a part of the new wave blue tactics. He believes that the left can win with a level playing field, without all the subterfuge and diversionary tactics that have become liberal normalcy. And he's probably right. They probably won't be taken seriously among the general consensus again until they are honest with themselves and the public.

I will give him credit for hating all religion and constantly pointing out the hypocrisy of the left with their hatred of Christianity but constant defense of Islam.

Simply false. He turned against campus censorship only after he himself was targeted by it. He won't allow any criticism of global warming dogma on his show. He only supports free speech when he sees an opportunity to pat himself on the back. But that still makes him better than 99% of Demonrats.

I'm a Catholic Democrat. Tbh Dem themes like caring for the poor and sick vibe very well. Alternatively a lot of us see the every man for himself mentality of conservative ideology as pretty unchristian. At the end of the day though religion and politics don't mix. Naive to think otherwise.

Yeah, very unchristian of us to believe in the importance of the nuclear family and how helping the less fortunate should come from charitable giving of your own time, energy, and money as opposed to getting the government to forcibly take it from one group and give to whomever they think deserves it.
