You’re getting as bad with Maher as HHTM is with Rubio

It’s his best New Rule in a while. He tells Leftist segregationists that at this rate we’ll be the Balkins shooting at each other within the decade. He’s right and anyone who can see the writing on the wall is horrified. I could see both Bill (who backed up DeSantis ending the lockdowns in May of 2020) and Sam Harris possibly voting for DeSantis in 2024. The lines are being drawn: the sane and freedom minded vs the Woke and tyrannical. Tax policy is irrelevant given what our country is going through. If you think our country is flawed but still the greatest nation in the history of the world, then you’re on our side whether you like it or not.

He’s anti-woke to a point, but he will never vote any other way but Democrat so it’s a wash.

Don't get me wrong, I'm not a fan. The man made fun of Reagan's Alzheimer's. He can permanently frick off for that alone.

True. And, liberals like him ARE a problem.

That said, we need as many like him to openly talk about what liberalism REALLY is.

We can operate as a nation that disagrees on SS, abortion, the death penalty, taxes, etc etc. That's a thing in every nation that votes.

We cannot operate as a nation of people who simply hold elections to see who can frick the other guy.

And, it's affecting us all. I'm not going to lie. If an Earthquake somehow hit California and San Francisco fell into the sea killing every living being in the city, I just wouldn't give a frick. And, that's wrong. I know it's wrong. But, I also STILL know that I just wouldn't give a frick.

And the truth is, if New Orleans wasn't full of black people, liberals in those types of places wouldn't have given a frick about it after Katrina.

I don't know how we get back from where we are. But, where we are has a lot of kindling in it and, sparks are everywhere.

Again, he’s had nothing but kind words to say about people like DeSantis and Rand/Ron Paul. Even told Rand to his face he’s the one Republican nominee he’d consider voting for if the nominee.

We all grow older and most of us grow wiser.

I wonder if he'd do that again today? Somehow, I'm not so sure he would. I think it's possible to think a lot of things are funny when you still think of everyone as fellow country mates and recognize it ain't so funny now.

I think it’s more likely they are strong armed into toeing the party line. Both strike me as men too comfortable to risk alienation when things really get bad. They’ll hedge their bets with the dems to save themselves.

Can’t disagree with any of that. We are moving backwards into the separate but equal era

Probably likely, but I’m certain with these two if someone says “This person will be worse than Trump” that they’ll both very much defend DeSantis. If it’s Kamala vs DeSantis, I think they both go for DeSantis. There’s a killshot both of them could take and have been taking: Kamala directly ruined California and Kamala and people like her ruining their beautiful state is enough to vote for DeSantis.

He’s wrong about the progressive thing though. That’s just a repackaged name for Marxist/Socialist. He got fooled on that one

That’s possibly a wild card, but I just can’t see how they would suddenly justify voting with people they both feel morally and intellectually superior to. I know they’re now pushing back slightly, but they’re both partially responsible for creating this environment.

I’ll be shocked if Bill isn’t living in Austin by this time in 2023. He’s bitching about California constantly, says he’s had enough of it, and has threatened his Rep Adam Schiff (hijack: why the frick did you still vote for him Bill?) that if he doesn’t cut the bullshite he’s moving to Texas.

Yeah, I could see both Bill and Sam giving a middle finger vote to the Democrats with DeSantis since they know he’s extremely intelligent and unlike the people that scream it from the rooftops actually listens to the science and prizes American principles unlike Kamala or Biden. If Kamala and DeSantis are the nominees, I think both will vote for DeSantis.

As far as the intellectually superior to point, I can speak for Bill but not Sam. Bill has (rightly) said that the average person in California is every bit as stupid as the average person in Alabama. Bill just feels intellectually superior to pretty much everyone and doesn’t remotely judge your intellect from where you’re from. I think Bill truly thinks this quote that Anton Ego says in Ratatouille: “Not everyone can become a great artist, but a great artist can come from anywhere.” Given Ayaan Hirsi Ali is his hero (and mine as well), I don’t see how you can’t think that quote is true.

He’s also said he hates performing in blue areas (as late as last week) because they’re terrible audiences with a stick up their arse and greedy. On the other hand he loves performing in red areas since they’re a lot more fun, are great audiences, and are much more fun drinkers at the after party.

As for Sam, I do like how he reached the epiphany of Trump’s appeal on the night before the election, and admitted he was an a-hole in his judgement before understanding what we here all understand: YouTube

Bwahaha…talk on with your Mississippi self! We Alabamians collectively wake up every day thanking the Lord above for you guys! I know the both of us are not “the average” because we make the effort to educate ourselves by what we do here but your take was a bit laughable on its face!
