Ouch. Dude seems very respectable, but definitely not qualified for that position.

Apparently that wildebeest, Klobuchar, was going to interview him next. I wanna see what sort of bs questions she asked.

Funny comments from youtube.

At least he’s consistent, he missed them all.

he is like a kid who didnt study for the big test at all and the teacher is confronting him in front of all of the students, this is insane

I’m a student pilot with only 30 hours and even I could answer some of those questions. We’re screwed if this guy actually becomes in charge

He sounds like a perfect nomination for this administration.

He has been to an airport and has not stolen a suitcase off the baggage conveyor.

It’s fun to watch lefties on Twitter explain how it doesn’t matter that he doesn’t understand these questions because he’s in a leadership role.
But they will unashamedly bash any (R) candidate even with experience.

The dude struggled to get the Denver job. After six years of running "clean air" busses for LA Metro.

"Some scrutiny from council members, who will question Washington at a committee hearing Wednesday, has centered on whether Washington brings the right experience. He’s also faced questions recently about a self-described whistleblower’s claims of corruption, cronyism and improper contracting at L.A. Metro."

The best and brightest continue to surface in this administration. Now let's continue to lower the bar in education for the hat trick. EQUITY

Why would someone that hasn't worked in aviation be able to answer aviation questions?
You are asking the wrong question.

I agree that there is no reason that "someone who hasn't worked in aviation" (he has, but let's ignore that) would likely not be well-versed in FAA regs.

The PROPER question is "Why nominate someone for head of the FAA, if that person knows nothing about aviation?" Even if Biden is just checking boxes, SURELY there was a potential candidate that met the demographic specs and ALSO knows the difference between SEL and a seal.

The question on what causes a stall seemed basic. As a layman, I feel I could have answered that.
Most people would get it wrong, thinking that it has something to do with the engine, rather disruption of airflow across and under the wings causing a loss of lift.

That is certainly what I thought, before studying for my pilot license.

For the job he was nominated for? None, zilch, nada. It's shameful and embarrassing that he made it this far in the process.
He ran one of the largest airports in the country. We can certainly debate whether that is ENOUGH qualification, but it is silly to assert that he has ZERO background in the aviation industry.

Yes, Washington is a perfect fit for Washington.

"the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department had a criminal investigation at LACMTA's offices related to a criminal investigation into Washington, which came after a Metro whistleblower's claims of corruption. The investigation was of Metro's sexual harassment hotline, which was found to cost more than $8,000 per call after "multiple no-bid contracts to run the service were awarded to Peace Over Violence, a charity led by a close friend and campaign donor of L.A. County Supervisor and Metro board member Sheila Kuehl."[16][17] Washington maintained that he was innocent and that the complaint was from a disgruntled employee, with Hancock supporting him.[18] Despite the allegations and the investigation, the Denver City Council unanimously voted to approve Washington as the new CEO."

Right, I was literally thinking "stalls happen because the plane loses lift."

As basic as that answer is, I'm sure that's all the guy wanted for an answer. The nominee couldn't even give him that.
