They wouldn't allow McCain or Romney to win. They won't let DsSantis win either.

UNLESS he declare's 100% RINO support.

He goes RINO and he will get smoked by any Democrat that runs.

I'm a Trump supporter, but I'll vote for the nominee. But there would be many others who would stay home.

The only path for Republicans is the defeat of the NWO RINO's whom the majority of Republicans do not support.

Palin, another outsider, evoked the same sort of unwarranted hate.

I think Ron is the smarter play and is the only shot to sort of bring together GOPe and MAGA. But, I understand Trump supporters wanting to burn it all down, too (especially if we are just going to end up with Mitt Romney). I think Ron can win over certain segments with TDS (suburban women). But, I'm not sure that offsets Trump probably being stronger than him in the rust belt.

Well we know what Trump's "national appeal" is. Unfavorable ratings at 57%, highest of any national politician. Independents are still needed to win. I doubt Trump can get them.

Applying a traditional election metric to Trump at this stage is being disingenuous.

That's what I'm saying. I'm probably 90% in agreement with NC Tigah on issues across the board. I'm just trying to deal with the political reality the way I see it. No, DeSantis ain't perfect and yes the ruling class and their sheep followers are awful. That still doesn't change the electoral situation.

President Biden would easily beat former President Donald Trump in a hypothetical 2024 election matchup

Science fiction is fun.

Why did they let Trump win?

Trump was an anomally they couldn't plan or prepare for. I believe a lot of voters became complacent in "they are going to do it anyway" mentality.

Trump broke all that and had a mass of Republicans and Independents with the America First agenda and anti-establishment.

The only way Democrats pull off 2020 was with mass mail-out fraud to overwhelm the system. Laws were actually allowed to be broken in the process and the Supreme Court affirmed them all due to COVID.

Remove COVID and Trump would have embarrassed Democrats in a LEGAL election in 2020.

There is no evidence that Biden got 80 million actual votes from 100% verified voters. The fraud found since then proves it.

Votes aren't, if you're sticking with the claim that your version of fraud has been happening since McCain.

Not like 2020. They literally mass mailed mail-out for every voter on voter rolls in some of these states WITHOUT being requested.

WHen you look at the vote totals up until stoppage, it literally doesnt make sense with the spike afterwards the goes stright up for Biden.

COVID was manufactured and planned and received the desired outcome.

So, not McCain and Romney then.

Just Trump and only in 2020.

I think deep down most people agree with the sentiment, but the danger is too great. Before you can build anything back the opposition party would be entrenched for years.

Like it or not, the republican party needs someone who will motivate the unwashed masses, who you might feel icky being associated with, to show up and vote in order to win. People like McCain and Romney didn't do it. Trump did. Maybe (hopefully?) someone else can.

At least you need to hope so if you want a republican elected president.

The "sophisticated" democrats understand this notion with regard to their party and operate accordingly. I don't know why it's so difficult for a lot of republicans to do so.

Constant derision is likely not the best tactic, though.

That was fine in 2016. For 2024, we have results that show that the people don't want Trump.

Republicans need a candidate who can get voters to show up, sure, but they also need a candidate who isn't going to get Democrats to show up against him.

The media is going to rile up the dems claiming he’s the devil and get Dems fired up to vote.
