I think the SS was telling him to walk around because there was a pallet on the pathway, just like the one in view at the start of the video.

Really? The guy has dementia, he is being told where to go obviously. Besides if there was a pallet under the covered walk way, wouldn't the President of the United States be able to navigate around a pallet, like he just did a few steps prior.
Assuming there is a pallet there for him to avoid:
-Does the POTUS need somebody to tell him how to navigate around it?
Assuming there isn't a pallet where the Agent pointed:
-Does the POTUS need somebody to tell him how to get into the White House?
Either way it doesn't look good for our dementia President.

They are always near by except for in the residence. Up stairs they give the first family and guests a little more breathing room, but even then they are about three seconds away.

It might’ve been 10 yards at most. The perspective of the camera makes it look like it’s further, plus Joe does take a longer time to travel distances than most normal people. I mean seriously, just look at how he walks. It’s the old man plodding where you can tell each step eats up a fair amount of his mental capacity just to do such a simple thing.
