In comparison to bigger crooks and worse recent mayors, yes.
We were comparing Landrieu to Nagin, and no person with a brain and a memory greater than a goldfish could argue Nagin was a better mayor.
As for Nagin compared to other mayors, I'll agree that there was corruption in prior admins but I can't see how it was greater before Nagin. Nagin did nothing to stop it. And I can't think of one positive thing he ever did as mayor. Certainly his actions during Katrina wouldn't qualify him as competent by any metric.

So they don't have some of the same big money people behind them

They ran against each other two elections ago. Who did this "big money" support?
Nagin supported Landreu's opponent last time? Who did this "big money" support?

There you go again, with that amorphous group you claim belong to. Lot's of people disagree with your load of crap.
And I was comparing Nagin to all of our recent mayors, including Landrieu. Nagin's friends and relatives haven't enriched themselves in any way in comparison to the friends and relatives of the Landrieu's.
I'm not enamored with any of these guys, but I think Mitch Landrieu is an arrogant bag of wind, who really hasn't accomplished jack shite since being elected other than enriching his machine.
I find the hapless Nagin refreshing, in that he didn't have a machine to repay. And the best way to discover corruption is to change the leadership.
In my opinion, losing Landrieu would be no great loss even if it were to an equally distasteful character like Bagneris or perhaps even King.

Half the shite that came out of Nagins mouth was bullshite. Again, he was an embarrassment.
Do you know anyone who has had to do business with city hall. Do you know anyone who might work in the IT or Finance areas of City Hall? Ask any of those people to compare how things are now vs when Nagin left office. It's like night and day.

All of the african american political groups have publicly announced their support for Bagneris over Landrieu. BOLD, SOUL, COUP, LIFE, and Progressive Democrats. WBOK said the Koch Brothers are flooding the ministries with major financial contributions to push support to Bagneris. This will be a very interesting election.
