Or maybe these ortho surgeons who realized they really can’t do shite decided they want to be more involved did an extra 4 years in a GS rotation. But I suspect YOU aren’t one of those guys
No, those guys just did an extra year doing an ortho trauma fellowship. Our training is long enough, who wants to do another 4 years after 6 years of residency + fellowship. You are cruel

And when I think about fusions, plating, heads or basically anything complex above the waste the first thing I think of is ortho. Yeah no.
Hmm OK, lets see. Hell, we can even remove lower extremity if you would like. Who does the overwhelming majority of fusions and plating above the waist? Or are you of the belief that these CT surgeons are crushing RVUs with rib plating

but when discussing true CCM you are like most ortho guys......lost.
I'm confused--is this supposed to be an insult?

So I decided to quit being lazy and look it up. They are basically ortho that works on complex fractures. So basically ortho+, that’s it. They don’t have the same scope as a general trauma surgeon who manages the patient and can perform GS, they cannot do that. THATis why I have never made a distinction, because their really isn’t much of one. Color me naive for assuming all ortho could work on all fractures.

I have no idea, but I know our CTSX do a lot, probably 10 a week. More ironic is you bringing up RVU’s, which is probably at the crux of our initial disagreement, competition. Because you know damn well in a free market system without Medicare propping you up, you granny ortho clinics are done. Let’s just say your RVU’s will be zero.

You seem to be confused a lot, but no, not at all. Just the reality. Take care!
