2.54 cm in an inch. So 6.22 inch by 4.72 inches

think pressure points my guy. his neck isnt 12 inches wide, nor 8 inches long. He would have certainly been repositioned and moved throughout the autopsy.
Or, it could have been something as benign as sunburn, which you would expect in these conditions.
But if it were hemorrhaging, ie an accumulation of blood due to trauma, you would have 700% heard this from Crump

For which he will most definitely lose. The state nor the locality had a single thing to do about it and he cannot prove a flawed autopsy. Every single Jackson County, MS resident should be screaming for them to not dare settle.

no. if the "redness" were indeed bruising, it would have been described as a hemorrhage, which could be attributed to trauma or injury. Crump would have made sure to be clear about this.

One thing the report did not state is if the redness was pre- or post-morte.. You would think he would have point this out.
My two possibilities are this:
1. Pre-mortem irritation caused by a football helmet. The diagram shown in the report lines up with padding in the back of a helmet. If he's been working out with a helmet on, that could explain it.
2. Post-mortem bruising caused by the hull of a boat. If his body was just below the surface, a boat could have hit him and no one on board would have noticed. The Gulf isn't known for it’s crystal clear north of the islands. The boat may not have been going very fast due to rough/shallow water.
Just a couple things to ponder.

I think you can rule out #2 because bruising/trauma would have certainly been reported. And getting a fatal hit to the head from a boat would have almost certainly caused fractures- which are not there. #1 tracks since his father said he was preparing for a football tryout.
The TMZ theory about the autopsy head rest may be the most likely, and sun irritation is another very likely cause.
