And maybe I’m missing the point how destroying the world 10X over benefits Russia. Or maybe they will just destroy every country that doesn’t buy their oil and gas and isn’t a member of NATO?

The point that you’re missing is that it doesn’t really matter once the ICBMs start flying back and forth. Because then, it’s all over.
Is there a line in the sand that may eventually have to be drawn? Sure, maybe. A money laundering muck like Ukraine that corrupt politicians play in is sure as hell not it.
