re: Beirut firefighters pictured trying to enter warehouse just before explosion

There’s multiple conspiracy theories sprouting about this one:
1. That the blast was from an Israeli missile attack and the preceding fire was just a smoke screen.
2. That Israel set fire to the “fireworks” warehouse next door to destroy the inventory
3. The Hezbollah was using the “fireworks” warehouse as a munitions storage facility
4. That the blast wasn’t triggered by stored chemicals seized at the port but by a massive bomb or missile warhead Hezbollah was storing in secret at their munitions dump.
5. Hezbollah f$&ked up and burned down their own weapons depot and forced the Lebanese government to come up with a plausible cover story.

Man. They had to have been vaporized

Maybe the image was uploaded to the cloud just prior.

Ammonium nitrate is not explosive by itself

True, very true... must not have been an iPhone then cause nobody is getting in there for awhile but plausible for certain...
Except for this:
with the photo later found on his recovered phone."

Supersacks (2000 lb) are hard to move, the materials the sacks are made of are fluid/waterproof and the ammonium nitrate has been in there stacked up for quite some time so the material was packed off
To get an explosion that uniform from ammonium nitrate would require opening the sacks and soaking the material in fuel oil or diesel
Not sure how they would have done that without being noticed

Diesel fuel isn’t the only thing that can set it off.
There is a company that has made a shite load of money selling a small amount of Ammonium Nitrate and Aluminum Powder that is set off with a rifle bullet. It’s sold at most Academy Sports stores and gun shops everywhere.

It has to be mixed with something to be explosive
We have some in our warehouse, in supersacks, it is a crystal
ETA: mixing it with diesel doesn’t set it off, saturating it in diesel or fuel oil makes it possible to set it off with a fuse or some sort of trigger

looks like a fricking nuclear bomb jesus
you also can see some sort of flash ignition right before the explosion

some sort of trigger
Like the shock of a smaller explosion perhaps...

If the ammonium nitrate was saturated in diesel or fuel oil sure
That is a pretty big if

Are you contending that the ammonium nitrate played no part in the explosion?

At least one of the videos I watched the other day clearly showed a small explosion followed immediately by the big one. You really had to zoom in and slow it down to see it which I could do on my iPad.

Wow. That building next to it literally jumped up

And here is a picture of the ammonium nitrate that was stored in the warehouse.
