I'm in my fifties, and not new to the planet. Its not been going on for 30 years. Just 9 years ago, California of all people, in keeping with every other state that voted, chose to ban gay marriage, and now all of a sudden, it's mainstream acceptability. Most everywhere else, the margin was STRONGLY in favor of banning gay marriage, but that's all but disappeared.
What happened was that for the first time, the majority of our voters were born after the Civil Rights Act. People younger than 50 don't have the hangups about race and sexuality, by and large, that the older generations have.

Is this going to be a 4 hour movie? Why would LeFou need to have his sexuality explored at all?

This is ongoing. Your first post in this thread was a reply to me. I didn't "jump in" to anything.

It is NOT A RIGHT, and that doesnt magically make it a right either. If it is an unalienable right to marry now, then we are denying that right to other men created equal who want to marry their family members, or pedophiles wanting to marry children, ALL OF WHOM enjoy every other right in the constitution, just not your exclusionary new marriage right.

Horse fricking shite its a right.

Marriage is a human right, and SCOTUS has confirmed this in 14 different rulings. The right to marry is a cornerstone of Liberty.

Your post is incredibly stupid.

You are right. It's not a RIGHT.

That still doesn't change the fact that if it should be legal for 2 consenting adults to marry one another.

Now we're getting somewhere. This makes it a state issue, and the states already spoke on that matter one way or another. I'm fine with it being decided on a state by state basis, and the Feds recognizing it as such one way or another, but calling it a right when we all know damn well it isn't and the SCOTUS making a constitutional ruling on it as if it were a right is what is revolting. Its an overreach and indicates a much bigger problem in our government.

It doesn't really add or have anything to do with the story itself, so I'm interested to see how it's added.

Marriage is a human right? Then why isn't the word marriage mentioned ONCE in the constitution of the United States of America? Surely a human right so integral to liberty would be mentioned at least once.

I'm being stupid?

Not about trans.

You then jumped into a conversation I was having with someone else. As you did multiple times.

So you're on record as disagreeing with Loving v. Virginia.

Got it.

I didn't say it was a Constitutional right.

You were done long before this.

Who issues marriage licenses? Feds, or various States?

What is a State?

Wrong. Quite the opposite.

On the trans issues, it certainly is not a great thing.

That's how a discussion works. This isn't a conversation forum. If you don't like it, find somewhere else to converse with individuals.

You began your adventure in this thread with a reply to me, and have continued to do so. You're upset now because I pointed out some confusion. It's no less weird now than it was then for you to continue denying that to be the case.
