Tara Wicker likely would have defeated Sharon Weston Broom. But someone did a hit piece her about some tax returns ; so she's out.

Not sure about/or familiar with Watson. I'm sure Marcelle will emerge too.

Kind of like this weekend college football; slim pickings.

BR stuck in the mud.

Broome is horrible but I have a feeling that Marcelle would be worse.

Watson isn’t bad. He’s definitely not an exciting celebrity style politician but he could be a solid mayor.

I’m hoping turnout can push Watson over Broome in the runoff

Maybe she should move to NOLA, since not paying taxes is a prerequisite to running for mayor in that city these days.

Matt Watson is my councilman and he is constantly doing things in our district to make it better. He is responsive and professional, but more importantly; he wants to be mayor. Unlike the rest of the Republican candidates, he isn’t here to disrupt the election or simply signed up as a back up to some other aspirations. He is the best candidate in this race and it’s not even close. Any Republican or conservative that votes for Piazza or Carter is throwing away their vote.

Marcelle would make a horrible mayor....she is terrible in the legislature and was horrible on the city council...
It would be a total embarrassment to have her as mayor of baton rouge..

EBR will never elect a qualified person to manage a budget over 900 million and 4000 employees. Ain’t gonna happen, Democratic or Republican. When people have had enough they’ll vote this shitty system out and move to a council-manager form of government. Look up ICMA.

Broome got roughly 25% of the white vote in 2016. That, combined with ridiculously low voter turnout in the southern part of the parish and the black block vote from NBR, put her in office. My hope is that, after seeing what a complete shite show her administration has been, those people who couldn’t be bothered to vote last time will get off their asses and vote this time around.

Probably voting for Watson at this point. I was considering Wicker. Piazza isn't a conservative and Carter has been nowhere to be found.

But I would vote for anyone besides Broome and Marcelle and the only way I vote for Broome is if it is just her and Marcelle on the ballot.

C. Denise is the only challenger in this race that might be worse than Sharon.

Sharon is stupid; C. Denise is a straight up race baiter.

Matt Watson is a great candidate, so I’ll be voting for him.

Piazza looks like a clown, but I’ll be meeting him tomorrow, so I’ll get to see for myself.

Broome and Marcelle are both walking disasters.

E is the best clown candidate.

Do you know that little Piazza clown? He paid to have facebook spam our timelines with his ads.

Seeing “Progress” in a candidate’s slogan makes me run away fast as hell.

I’m voting for Matt Watson and not giving it a second thought. I was voting for Matt Watson even before Wicker got banned from the race and so many here were creaming their underpants over her for some reason.

I don’t know Piazza personally, only know of him through his ads and word of mouth from friends of friends. I will get to meet him tomorrow. On the other hand, I know Watson and E personally, and have met Mayor Broome and Denise Marcelle on multiple occasions.

I was going to vote for Tara in the first round, even though she’s not the greatest, because she’d be a step up from that racist bitch we have now and had the best chance to win it all.

But since there is no one on that side to challenge her I will vote the R with the best chance to win (not that it’ll happen....this parish is a lost cause) regardless of who it is.
