Bank Statements Make It Increasingly Likely Fani Willis Allegations Are True

Bank statements showing Fulton County District Attorney Fani Willis’ alleged lover Nathan Wade, who she appointed as special prosecutor in the case against former President Donald Trump, purchased airline tickets in her name make it increasingly likely allegations about their relationship and potential kickbacks are true, legal experts told the Daily Caller News Foundation on Friday.
Wade purchased airline tickets to Miami and San Francisco in Willis’ name, bank statements contained in a Friday court filing by his wife, Joycelyn Wade, revealed. A motion filed by Trump co-defendant Michael Roman to disqualify Willis and dismiss the case previously alleged she benefited from approving Wade’s “lucrative” contract when he took her on vacations, which legal experts said makes it more likely the allegations contained within are accurate.

Atlanta-based criminal defense attorney and legal analyst Philip Holloway told the DCNF that the bank statements show “that the money that was paid to him benefited her in the form of lifestyle purchases.”
quote:
“I think it supports the allegations made by Roman,” he said. “It connects the dots and follows the money from the coffers of the Fulton DA’s office back to Willis in the form of costs of personal travel.”
The bank statements contained in Friday’s court filing also feature payments for Royal Caribbean and Norwegian Cruise Lines, which Roman’s motion alleged the two traveled on together. Wade made two $1,387 and $1,284 payments for the Royal Caribbean cruise on Oct. 4, 2022, the same day he purchased the pair of airline tickets to Miami, including one in Willis’ name, according to the statements.
quote:
“It certainly looks bad,” John Malcolm, vice president for the Heritage Foundation’s Institute for Constitutional Government and former deputy assistant attorney general in the DOJ’s Criminal Division, told the DCNF. “I would want to see how the two of them respond before saying definitively that this is all disqualifying. But, if these were County funds that were paid to him (and which were authorized by her) for case-related work, and it turns out that the funds were used to pay for romantic getaways by the two of them, that would certainly be disqualifying.”

And yet NOTHING will happen...

Well, I think we can all say pretty confidently the GA RICO trials won't happen until after the election, now.

Has she denied it?
No, outside of her virtue signaling at the church, she has avoided anything to do with it.
She knows she is screwed and trying not to dig the hole deeper.

She could be 100% guilty.
I would imagine Kemp and Raffensperger will run cover for her until after the election is over. Until then, I would suggest that this is all theater.

How does either one of them have power over her under Georgia law?

Whats being left out of this whole ordeal is the fact that a family attorney was appointed to this position, for this case, and traveled to the WH.
Why the frick would he need to go to the WH unless potato Joe and his admin were involved in the get Trump schemes?

I don't know about the SOS, but the Governor has to have some input over their version of state police, right? In GA it's the GBI, right?
I assume they investigate corruption cases of local/county officials pretty regularly.

I covered this in the other thread.
There was lots of deflection, but zero substance to refute what I said.
Basically, a couple of posters refused to acknowledge, or expand upon, what Kemp had previously done to other DA’s that could be probably be applied here.
I find it amazing to see all of these people refusing to see that Kemp is defending Fani Willis through inaction.

Imagine having that closet-load of skeletons and thinking you could conceal it after going after Donald Trump?

This story is just breaking. Even if we assume there was indisputable criminal behavior, it's way too early for decisive action. There has to be a full on investigation.

I agree.
Which is why I suggested this as a possible course of action:
quote:
ATLANTA (AP) — Georgia’s governor has suspended a district attorney who was indicted on charges of criminal misconduct while in office. Gov. Brian Kemp signed an executive order Monday suspending Chattahoochee Circuit District Attorney Mark Jones until his case is resolved or the end of his term of office, whichever comes first.

Weren't these DAs already indicted when Kemp acted? Yes or No?
Fill us in.

If/when she is indicted, I'm sure he'll do the same.
We are months, possibly years before an indictment is likely. They'll have to do a regular investigation and then convene a grand jury,

He has referred her situation to a “process” that can’t even begin yet.
By doing so, he has simultaneously given her protection, and him cover via a proposed “process.”
