Baltimore Ravens call for arrest of officers in Jacob Blake case

he Baltimore Ravens in a statement Thursday demanded the arrests of the police officers who killed Breonna Taylor in March, as well as those involved in the shooting of Jacob Blake on Sunday.
"With yet another example of racial discrimination with the shooting of Jacob Blake, and the unlawful abuse of peaceful protesters, we MUST unify as a society. It is imperative that all people — regardless of race, religion, creed or belief — come together to say, 'Enough is enough!'" the NFL team said.
"This is bigger than sports," they continued. "Racism is embedded in the fabric of our nation's foundation and is a blemish on our country's history. If we are to change course and make our world a better place, we must face this problem head-on and act now to enact positive change."

The team also implored Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-Ky.) to bring the George Floyd Justice in Policing Act of 2020 to the Senate floor for vote, calling for a ban on chokeholds and no-knock warrants, an end for qualified immunity and other police reforms. LINK

We must become socialists. It’s the only way to stop people who won’t take responsibility for their own actions.

I love how they casually throw this in there with no explanation or reasoning. Like it’s an accepted fact.

Citizens getting shot by police after not complying is not about racism.

Shouldn't they be more worried about policing the dog fighting rings in their midst?
I am so glad professional sports are choosing this moment to die a quiet death...

These are incredibly stupid people we are dealing with. That said, no-knock warrants are insanely stupid as well.

These guys need a little taste of austerity. A 50% drop in revenue would do it.
I bet 90% of them would favor wealth over wokeness.

What a hill to die on!
I guess they don't remember the blow back they received from the kneeling.

Who the hell is the Baltimore Ravens?! Never heard of them or the Saints that are mentioned here from time to time for that matter.

That’s odd, I don’t remember the Ravens wanting Ray Lewis arrested.

Good lord. These people look dumber and dumber every time they defend this rapist.
I think Derrick Henry just broke off another 15 yard gain.

As pointed out in the MSB thread, the Ravens aren’t the best team to try this.
Ray Lewis, Ray Rice, Jamal Lewis.
Ray Lewis was involved in a murder at a Super Bowl Party. It’s believed he actually did the killing but the Fulton County DA dropped the ball and he got acquitted.
Ray Rice’s abuse case has been well covered.
Jamal Lewis facilitates a drug deal at one point and had to spend some time in Club Fed while a member of the team.
And this doesn’t even go into Baltimore having a front row seat to the Freddie Gray clusterfrick where the DA pushed charges which weren’t warranted that ended up in multiple acquittals.
