This is borderline political at best, but I figure PT will have a more civil conversation of the reasons & impacts.

48. Cali
49. Louisiana
50. Mississippi

Interesting

Sounds right. We have a bunch of dumbfricks in this State. Most of them reside in New Orleans and Baton Rouge

It all comes down to demographics.

My first impression is that there's only a 10 point margin between first place and dead last.

What state are you from? Your math is off.

I kid. It’s mine that’s off. From Louisiana.

The average IQ in California is 95.5 and ranks forty-eighth in the nation. California is home to a number of universities, including Stanford University and UC Berkeley, which are renowned for their academic excellence and attract students from all over the world. The high-tech industry is also famous for bringing bright minds to California, as many computer scientists and engineers have moved to the state for careers in this field. But despite the numerous impressive academic institutions the state still has one of the lowest average IQs in the country.

Think how utterly retarded the lower 75% of the state must be. One of the most educated, but still overall one of the collectively dumbest.

I identify as someone with a 175 IQ so everyone has to validate my intellectual prowess.

Man I don’t know if that overcomes the cultural misappropriation of the smart.

If only there was one specific thing, that all three of these states had in common…

I live in Minnesota, and own stores in Wisconsin and Michigan.

None of these places deserve credit for being ranked where they are.

Alabama's average SAT scores seem to be oddly high, at # 20, considering where they are in all other rankings.
Anybody have a guess why?

This seems to correlate with obesity quite well. I wonder, what is the main driver?

I would guess that southern states use the ACT. Most high school students here don’t take the SAT, only those who want to apply to national brand, competitive colleges.
