Half the time employees are laughing and giggling like idiots with themselves and acting as if the paying customer is an unwanted distraction.

I hate the kiosk and self checkout crap.
Sure some of the blame can be put on the workers demanding "living wages" in some states. But don't kid yourself that the corps were going to go automated regardless to cut out cost of employees.
So companies are driving this all by themselves before the higher wages stuff was coming in some states.
But I hate the self checkout, because I'm doing their job and not getting a discount. I think self checkouts should be for small number of items only.

I absolutely love the kiosks. For example, Panera Bread has one and I can sit there and create the ultimate salad.. it’s like a digital salad bar + I don’t have to talk to people trying to explain my order

Back in the day, when you pulled up to a gas station, there would be an attendant that would pump your gas for you and clean your windshield.
Now, all of those attendants are long gone and we all pump our own gas.

Just my opinion but I think there be smaller or no dining areas in fast food places being built, going forward.

We go to Outback quite a bit. The amount of interaction with the staff is so minimal yet we leave a large tip. I only go there because my wife makes us go out.
