Because he didnt want online losers to ruin his son's reputation and scrutinize every aspect of his short life
Now, what is happening online? They posted the killer posing with toy guns at a party. Now, Karmelo Anthony's defenders are posting his son posing with guns also as a 'gotcha"
no parent wants to deal with that. he tried to get out ahead of it

The guy doesn’t want his son’s murder politicized
Ok here in lies the problem. He politicized more than anyone else by trying to come off as the Christian white male, forgiving the black MURDERER, of his son. Ask his son's twin brother as he was trying to stop the bleeding, if he was looking at the guy that stabbed his brother, if he was thinking of forgiveness.
He politicized it by saying it was not race related. If it's not race related, why didn't either one of his son's have a knife and stab the other teen back? Because it is race related, MAYBE not the attack itself but in the different cultures the people are raised in, the conflict resolution tactics races are taught, and watch before long the murderer will be made out to be the victim . shite won't change as long as people, ESPECIALLY white people quit feeling guilty to show their true emotions of things. That doesn't apply to me, I don't have any guilt, I haven't personally done anything to anyone so that's that

If he’s already forgiven his son’s murderer, he’s a terrible father.
Something about his constant media presence and his over the top virtue signaling really angers me. He comes across like David Hogg after the school shooting; it's creepy and bizarre.

So a guy’s son gets killed by a black person and you think the automatic reaction he should have is that the murder was just about race? Is that going to make the case against the murderer any easier?
No, it actually muddies the water around the case for people to start focusing on race. Making this a black vs white issue is going to cause the usual suspects to start coming out of the woodwork. It should be an open and shut case, the boy admitted he did it, now just establish motive and it’s over. I think he wants justice for his son, he’s said as much, but that only becomes more difficult as this turns into a circus.

And yet there is a very real problem that many would rather ignore.

His dad is a cuck and I’d be ashamed if I were his kid

Leave them alone, let them grieve, let them process this, let them come to grips with a new reality, let the justice system work.
The very same day his son was killed, he set up a GoFundMe asking for $240K with no specific goal. And he's already met his goal.
That seemed very odd behavior to me. I think that if my son had been violently killed, I wouldn't be thinking about a money grab at that particular moment.
His ex-wife also has her own GoFundMe for $100K that was set up by her employer. The stated goal is to raise money to pay for funeral and legal expenses. That actually makes sense, as opposed to the father's non-specific request for $240K.
I counted at least 10 fund raisers that have already been set up in the name of either Austin Metcalf or Karmelo Anthony.

Asking the public for $240K the very day that your son was killed does not seem very graceful to me.

The fact that the OP is getting so many downvotes just tells you how far off the rails so many people on this board have gone.

It appears the kid who stabbed him says it was self defense. Then other people there say he provoked it.
So, if I enter your home uninvited (tent in this case), I can defend myself when you attempt to remove me? That's not how any self-defense laws I'm familiar with work.

If he needed to comment on the murder, he could have commented on the case without mentioning race in any capacity, which He DID NOT
I didn't say it should be an automatic reaction that it's racial but being honest since the summer of love , George Floyd, everything has become if it involves a white and black person. If you can't admit that, then you haven't lived in the United States or watched msm, because God knows they make everything about it . Is it right? No. But then it's not right for all these white apologist out there, it's not right that a majority of the "black leaders" are going to come out here soon taking donations for the defendant and spouting off reasons he is the real victim.
