Infinite Energy Arena in Gwinnett holds about 13,000. I'm sure the county would love to have the convention come to town.

Atlanta has a population of about 500,000 right now and its demographics are changing as more and more people move in and revitalize neighborhoods. The metro area has a population of 6 million and about a million of them live in Gwinnett.

Yeah Clayton has been declining for at least 30 years now. It seems like people began streaming out of Clayton in the mid 80s (for Fayette, Henry, Coweta, etc.) and the floodgates seemed to open on the exodus around the time of the Olympics.

The folks down there definitely blame the Olympics.

They claim the elimination of the Atlanta public housing projects around that time brought a flood of section 8 folks to the area.
No idea if it's true or not.

I know the north Sandy Springs area had a big increase of folks in subsidized housing apartments after the Olympics.

A lot of that happened after the Olympics through the mid-2000s.

Since Sandy Springs' incorporation, the city has been working to redevelop many of those (the North End is next)

I hope so.The area from North Springs plaza up to Northridge has become pretty bad.Hell, they had to close the Kroger on Northridge because of all stealing and crime in that parking lot.

I lived in a apt complex in the area in the mid 90's and it was a great place then.

Do what? Who exactly is buying those multi million dollar homes in Buckhead, Virginia Highlands and Midtown?

Not the type of people that vote Keisha Bottoms into office. Why don’t you try to read between the fricking lines instead of getting caught up on one affluent neighborhood motherfricker

The residents of Buckhead are not the people that voted Keisha bottoms in the office motherfricker

Why don’t you get a fricking clue and go look at the demographics of the city

I lived in the condos across from the AT&T complex at Abernathy & Roswell Rd in the mid to late 90s.

It was a great place to be.

This was the 2017 mayoral runoff map (blue=Bottoms, green=Norwood):

The mayor can celebrate losing her city that revenue in the same way AOC celebrated losing NYC the Amazon jobs. Liberal logic - gotta love it.

Yeah that stretch is strange because it's really close to some decent neighborhoods on pretty much all sides. And there are run of the mill offices all over. I've talked to SSPD officers who say it's like two different worlds inside the complexes and then out on Roswell Road where it's all commuters and normal SS residents passing by.

I live near 400 at Spalding Drive and it's pretty nice here, however going north of Dalrymple/Trowbridge it gets interesting.

You really need to do a little research. The black/white ratio in the city is approximately 46% to 41% down from 60% to 31% in 2000.Itll be close to an even split after the 2020 census IMO.

Do you REALLY think Buckhead is the only nice section of the city? Why don't you go price some homes in Midtown, Virginia Highlands or West Midtown?

No doubt that it's still a very affluent area (Its my old stomping grounds) and I know the exact area you are referring to.

Is Spalding Woods swim club still around?
