is the truth. But as usual his message is coming across in a totally inappropriate way. Opening himself up to endless criticism and maybe even seriously damaging the chances of the badly needed wall being completed.

He has or had a chance to be the most consequential and best president in modern history and with the implosion of the democrat party surely get re-elected in 2020. Under two conditions. (1) He throws away the tweeting habit. Occasionally is ok but not this deluge of midnight tweets. Some that should never have been sent. (2) He hire an expert politician/public relations person smart enough to write his speeches/tweets and strong enough to control his urges. Plus knows when to keep your mouth shut. And get him on a positive message when he does speak. And manages his image. He had the mo after the SOTU but has clumsily probably lost it I fear. The majority are hungry for a leader with a positive leadership style and yes a reassuring presidential style.

The 3 letter networks are doing this regardless of any accomplishment he has under his belt. shite, if he single handedly cured cancer the MSM would find an angle to spin it negatively. "Trump puts big pharma out of business by finding a way to subside cancer.
Preliminary results indicate a 100% success rate in curing cancer, but what if he colluded with the Russians??"

If everyone would stop blindly believing what network news says about him, they might actually see that he is doing his best to put our country back on the right path.

It's very simple.

There are 546 people with Constitutional offices in DC who swore an oath to support and defend the Constitution of the United States.

Only two of them are actually doing their job relative to the sovereignty of this nation.

Only one of the has the authority under the NEA to do what Trump did and the only reason he is having to do it is because 535 Members of Congress refused to fulfill their oaths.

His tweets are his biggest weapon. He has total control of the narrative at all times. The media can't help themselves. The Trump clickbait phenomenon is too powerful.

He can tweet about an issue, individual, or topic and that entity is immediately the center of national attention.

This is something cuck Republicans need to get through their thick skulls. You cannot make the media like you. It's a rigged game. They are going to carve you up no matter what you do or how much you try to appease them. Attempting to win the media's favor is a fool's errand.

I despise trump and would happily pile on if I thought the criticism was appropriate, but I can't get worked up over this.

I have to guess since the right has once again chosen a president who can't speak in coherent sentences, but I can see how he might have been trying to say that he didnt need to do this and he would have gotten the money another way, but because this is an emergency he wanted to do it faster. But that's not what came out.

It's idiotic but at least it's consistent, its a logical progression.

Problem is his tweets are not managed for maximum positive public effect. The public rallied to him with his STOTU. So the public would overwhelm the media. He has to be managed. Which is ok. But he either can't see it or won't see it. America is at risk and he is the man to save it. But he has to be managed to put his best foot forward. It's likely not too late but time is going on. The "I didn't need too" speech could be a disaster. We'll see.

We choose a leader who can't speak in coherent terms but acts sanely. He is our Biden in a good way. Dems pick Ocasio, Harris and the idiot Muslim lady. Freaks in speech, policy and full of raw hate. Typical of the modern democrat party.

This is not about the media. People are on to them. This about the public. They ate up what he was saying @ TSOTU. But he has to be managed. Ronald Reagan's wife was strong enough to direct her husband's good intentions in a positive fashion and made him an almost worshipped icon and president. Trump has no Nancy.

Negative!

As usual the MSM is truth's own worst enemy. It's latest "I didn't need to do this" Trump coverage gets the quote right but the attribution 100% wrong. "I didn't need to do this" does not refer to declaration of emergency, but rather accepting the $1.37B wall funding.

Do you have any idea as to what >90% negative and targeted partisan news coverage does to a "managed" image?

With more affable coverage Reagan was still a senile mental invalid, HWBush was an out-of-touch nerd, and W was so stupid someone had to tie his shoes for him. Meanwhile Carter, Clinton, and Obama were savant-level geniuses.

As long as people like yourself believe even half of what CNN reports, or what the NYTimes puts to print, the possibility of Trump having any shot at "managing" his image is pure fantasy.

Tigah you are correct sir, this is exactly what he meant.

And yes the media is going to take a piece of a soundbite and build a negative narrative around it every time.

Huckabee's comment is still my favorite. He said Trump could walk on water across the Potomac, and when he reached the other side the media would shriek "see, I told you he could not swim".

Dude, DJT gonna DJT, and there ain't no expert better at DJTing than DJT. The SOTU is a totally different setting than a presser. Do you think that if he came out with a unity speech Acunksta wouldn't have asked his gotcha muh-anufactured emergency question (which DJT scorched him on)?

The President of the United States of America had to declare a national emergency to obtain the means necessary to protect our boarders.

The left is so outraged they are attempting to sue the President to keep him from protecting the American people.

The media is attempting to portray this action as a tyrannical act of aggression against Americans. For building a wall. To protect them.

All because Orange Man Bad.

If that is the case then why does he say "it's faster". Look you're changing my basic narrative which is do what you've got to do then shut the heck up. He was forced to declare the emergency by the left. Ok, do it then say it's way past time to protect the health, safety and lives or Americans and our free, democracy. And that starts with protecting our borders. Without borders we simply have no country. Protecting the American people is job 1 and what I'm sworn to do and what I will do to my last breath. And walk off the podium. People understand that. Instead he gets off into a bunch of unnecessary horse manure and gives the left and the sue happy folks ammo.

I agree. It's a total gaffe to sign the spending bill. He didn't need to do that.

He has to defend himself. The mainstream Republicans don't and the MSM will lie about him just for the sake of lieing.

As much as his tweeting drives me to absolute and utter madness, I have reluctantly come around to this. There is no other way. They are not going to stop attacking Republicans no matter what they do.

Remember in 2008 when McCain was the most vile and evil man on the planet earth? Yeah, how did that turn out? He became a a true conservative when he capitulated and supported their narrative.

Remember in 2012 when Romney abusive of his classmates? How did that turn out? He became a saint when he gave in and resisted the Trump administration.

I hate where we are in our political discourse. But as of right now, there is no other way. This is the war they have chosen. We have to fight or die.
