No sh!t Pearl Harbor happened. In the Pacific. And it was the Japanese. Yes the US got involved with the Nazis when Hitler declared war on the US (without really consulting anyone in his government and just seemed to do it on his own on a whim). Go find your own citations it’s certainly out there. Dear lord some of y’all are dense
you are definitely just being truculent. I already stated the reason US got involved in ww2. shouldn't even be a debate. but do go on.

The argument is asinine. Nearly $700 billion(today's money) worth of supplies were sent to allies during WWII.
Might have been more than that in today's money. Also, I think the Omnibus may have just cancelled Ukraine's lend lease debt, not sure on that. But let's be real - they're never going to pay it back. The UK paid that money back. I assume the USSR did as well, but I'm not sure on that one.
Nevertheless, WWII is not comparable to Ukraine at all.
For those saying Putin and Russia constitute an enemy of the US, this is Putin back in 2015 or 2016. These are not the words you choose when you are an enemy or aspire to be one.
“Dear friends, we never divided the victory into ours and someone else’s,” Putin said. “We will always remember the assistance from the Allies: the United States of America, Great Britain, France and other nations of the anti-Hitler coalition, [plus] German and Italian anti-fascists.”
American Jeeps were sent to the USSR in WWII, among many other things, and some have been preserved and restored and can be seen in their Victory parades each year.
There's just no reason for all this friction between these two nations. It's a complete fabrication by the same crowd that has never done a single thing in service to our nation, but have only fleeced all of us for their personal enrichment.

You should read what he said at Munich 2007 then.

Putin's primary concern was Eastward expansion of NATO.
I hate NATO post cold war, but the invasion wasn't the best way to prevent further Eastward expansion of NATO.

There is no way, at this point, to convince people here that believe Russia is a ruthless and vile enemy, that perhaps they, even Putin, "could have" been a valuable ally.
Our propaganda machine is powerful indeed.

MacGregor and Ritter have both been consistently proven wrong from the Feb 24th. Moon of Alabama is an offshoot of the Daily Kos. Your sure like your far leftists like the Mate's and Blumenthals.

While we are at it throw in Dances with Bears, by John Helmer, old socialist from Australia who was and advisor to the first Socialist government in Greece than an advisor to Jimmy Carter, accused of being a KGB mole so moved to the USSR in the late 1980's.
Don't forget Bernie endorser, John Mearsheimer, who in the 90's was against Ukraine giving away its nukes because Russia would eventually invade. Now he is singing a different tune with the NATO caused it. Such a bullshooter.
Stephen Kotkin, Russian history authority, said the would support Russia if he too would take the money from the Russian Mafia, but he doesn't.

If you really believe that there are ethnic Russians in eastern Ukraine then you need a psychiatric evaluation.
If you really believe that there are NOT ethnic Russians in eastern Ukraine then you need to do a bit more research.
The VAST majority of the separatists in Donetsk and Donbas are ethnic Russians. Perhaps all of them.
In most cases, they are outnumbered by ethnic Ukrainian Russophones who favor remaining in Ukraine, but the ethnic Russians are the ones with the guns.

They stopped an invasion by a larger force in its tracks, and drove that invasion back by more than 50%. By some standards, that would be winning.
They have not driven the invaders completely out of their country. By some standards, that would be losing.

Yet Russia's education system and media still say that Russia is who beat the Nazis and all of Europe is Nazi.
