Whenever I heard a leftist utter the words "military industrial complex" I used to roll my eyes. I thought it was a gross exaggeration.

I believed in “spreading democracy” i.e. war, would make things better and safer for America. I thought every person on earth wanted to be free.
I naively thought the GOP wanted to win elections. I now know they just want to fundraise as the minority party.
I believed the FBI was a great organization filled with mostly conservatives that believed in law and order.

Saddam's WMD program was a legit reason to send our soldiers to Iraq.
It wasn't. Not even a little.
And with both Iraq and Afghanistan, I disagreed bigly with how both were run. F Colin Powell with his idiotic 'You break it, you bought' policy. Did THEY buy the world trade towers? NYC? F them, and F that elitist arrogance.
The Patriot Act. Now, to clarify, I didn't fully buy into it. As massive as the US gov was already, I didn't agree we needed yet MORE gov. I just didn't disagree hard enough.
