They were still able to get past the encryption (or the security measures, I doubt they actually broke the encryption) after the phone locked down, but your right.
Even if he just uses it on the shitter this should be concerning:

Trump’s call-capable cell phone has a camera and microphone, unlike the White House-issued cell phones used by Obama. Keeping those components creates a risk that hackers could use them to access the phone and monitor the president’s movements. The GPS location tracker, however – which can be used to track the president’s whereabouts – is disabled on Trump’s devices.

Depends on what he's using his iPhone for. If he's using it to get CIA briefings on NK, then that's bad. If he's using it while he tweets on the toilet in the morning, then who cares?
Well, if they could listen in on conversations in the room or such, that could pose issues even if he just has twitter and porn on it.
I doubt he’s rocking a Best Buy off the shelf iPhone but if he is that should be of major concern.
That said, we would never really know soooooo I’ll opt to put my worry elsewhere

What? Did you forget the Obama Blackberry issue? Poor libs. From treason to iPhones. It's been a steady, but big fall for y'all.

Yep. There’s a reason Snowden made everyone put their phones in the fridge when they met.

This. Liberals act like no one remembers their bullshite from just a few years ago.
Obama's blackberry was secure, Hillary's server was A-OK, comeys classified memos were "his property", but Trumps iPhone is going to burn us all in the black fires of hell.

Correct. Even the NSA can't break crypto in common use now. But they can (and do) find many ways around it. The weakest link is the phone, device, or computer itself. All that software has tons of holes waiting to be exploited, and if a hacker "pwns" the phone or device, it doesn't matter what's encrypted because you are monitoring it in real time anyway (and can easily steal any passwords).
But I'm getting way off-topic. Smart phones came out in 2007, so Obama was the first president in the smart phone age and Trump is the 2nd. Obama used a special Blackberry that NSA had taken and stripped down to its bare bones to secure it. I would imagine Trump could get a similar secured iPhone. I know NSA has the expertise to do it and I'm not sure why the haven't.

Obama’s blackberry wasn’t secure nor was Hillary's email server.

ETA: NVM. I looked it up. It was tested for an article. Did not work.

Maybe we can start with the fbi and doj not leaking everything he says and does before we worry about a phone.
He could use the goddam wind talkers and it wouldn't matter. Everything is on the front page of the NYT by morning.

A quantum computer could break it and any theoretical level (other than quantum) encryption. They exist too, but not - to the best of our knowledge - with that capability yet.

National Security Agency leaker Edward Snowden told the world last month that the agency can eavesdrop through the microphones of cellphones even when they’re switched off — a claim experts have now confirmed.

QC can only break asymmetric encryption, they can't break symmetric encryption. The best they can do for symmetric is reduce the search space by 1^sqrt2. That is to say, with a 256 bit cipher, they can reduce it to 128 bits. This is still not practical to break.
But with public keys (PGP, HTTPS, SSL, etc) they are toast. They will be broken instantly.
Whatever we have in the public sector with QC, you can bet NSA/DoD are a couple steps ahead. I doubt they have it yet, but they certainly have classified projects working on it.

Please! You know damn well his phone is the most secure phone in the history of the planet and this is either fake news or the White House put this out so foreign governments and hacker dorks would waste their time and money trying to hack the unhackable.

Again. You support the Obama administration spying on Trump. So why is this a concern of yours?

One day you'll understand.
