Are we making it too easy for government to control us

I was listening to the Wall Street Journal program this morning on the radio, and they were talking about the very real ability for hackers to hijack your vehicle’s computer system remotely and either crash it, or cut it off.
And I know that many don’t believe in bible prophecies, but thousands of years ago, it was predicted that a future societies ability to buy or sell would be controlled and based on whether that person had a mark or implant of some kind.
And with each passing day, with devices like Alexa, computer banking, Apple watches, computer operated cars, surveillance cameras everywhere, our activities online monitored, etc. , it gets easier and easier for us to be controlled.
In a few short key strokes, a person’s bank account can be frozen and his credit cards shut off.
And if you have a newer car, it’s engine could be incapacitated.
Then what?
I’m all for technology, but we are making ourselves easier and easier to control and track.
Thoughts? And please don’t let this thread devolve into a scripture quoting battle lest it gets whacked.

I heard that show. It's market driven. If a Ford becomes easy to hack then buyers will go elsewhere.
But it will be an ongoing battle between the hackers and the anti hacking security innovations.

You really don't need a firearm. The government will protect you

The single most dangerous thing controlling the public is TV (especially news networks). People of power figured this out very early on. They control the country.

Yes. Seems either by dictator, King or a Republic control always increases.

What’s really weird is there is a segment of our population that is very untrusting of the police and yet, perfectly fine with government dictating and control their lives.

It’s one of them. Right up there with our public education system.

They won't have to hack the system. What's envisioned is robo cars that pick you up and bring you were you want to go (or so you hope). You reserve the vehicle, pay for it and tell the system where you are going. They will totally control everything. You piss off the system and you stay home. Google Maximum Bob on Autoline Detroit from a few years ago.
But before that most of theses systems will be linked together (talking to each other for your safety). Right.
Most will use the same software and hardware. The danger is not the Chinese or the Iranians hacking the system. The danger is big brother driving those who are trouble makers to re-training camps somewhere in the desert.
Don't you love progress and progressives?

Some say that Andrew Breitbart’s car was remotely crashed.
And with spygate and Jeffery Epstein’s death, who knows?

We already know about Google and Facebook’s cozy relationship with our government

(you really think it was smart to start this thread?)
OF COURSE NOT. I COMPLETELY TRUST THE GOVERNMENT! THEY'RE NOT CONTROLLING US. THE GOVERNMENT LOVE US

The first major blow was the Espionage Act of 1917. While it may have had good intentions, it showed that the public would be willing to weaken privacy rights for security.
Second and more recent was the Patriot Act of 2001. Again another means by which the public gave up privacy rights for security.

The Patriot Act was horrible, and miraculously, already written and waiting before 9-11.

Good thing all of my weapons are the old school "manual" kind.

The government would love to put computerized components on guns that they could control.

I thought he collapsed on the sidewalk?

Yes! I think the personnel working in our federal government, both elected and those working in the various bureaucracies should be completely turned over every 20 years to keep the stink down......the desire for mass government control over our lives is real and the Swamp is a complete cesspool.
