Completely agree. Women are constantly bombarded with liberal and feminist ideas in school and in media. Marriage is so much smoother when two people have a shared set of goals and are in better alignment. I’m a firm believer in that two people can’t govern with identical authority without the possibility of major conflict (e.g. what to spend money on what what to save and invest). One of the two need to have slightly elevated authority. Fortunately the Bible tells us which one.
quote:
Wives, submit to your own husbands, as to the Lord. For the husband is the head of the wife even as Christ is the head of the church, his body, and is himself its Savior. Now as the church submits to Christ, so also wives should submit in everything to their husbands.
This behavior leads to better outcomes for the wive and the children.

I have recently started going back to church weekly. I love it. I feel so relaxed and recharged after a stressful week. It reminds me of why I am here and my purpose on this planet.
My kids go to a private Catholic school. The priest lectured us one day saying only 20% of the students go to church regularly. He was calling out the parents and shamed us. So yes, a lot of people don't go to church anymore but at the same time they see the value in the church. I also think that the scandals in the church over the past 25 years has turned people away.

Jesus didn't say that. He just said to make sure your house is in order before trying to judge others. Before taking the speck (sawdust) out of another's eye, make sure you don't have a beam (a larger piece of wood) in your own eye. So make sure you aren't trying to convict others of the same faults you may have.
Very true, thanks

I was raised Catholic. There is value in raising children according to Catholic doctrine, but I think the value ends there. It provides a great foundation for morality and for penalties for going against God.
Christmas is an accurate model for Catholicism. We teach that children should be good because otherwise Santa won't reward them. They act good so they will get gifts. But soon children are confronted with other children telling them that Santa isn't real.
This is an early test of faith that they will encounter later when people tell them there is no God. Do you believe in Santa in spite of the evidence?
Catholicism doesn't educate you what to do when you find your parents wrapping gifts from Santa when you are older.
I'm not sure any other Christian belief does, but it would be great if there was a way to lay the foundation of Christianity as well as Catholicism does and then have a way to guide children through the trials of faith, respectfully questioning doctrine, and exploring their own understanding of Jesus' teachings.

No. But I never needed some guy to talk behind a podium or altar to have a relationship with God anyway.
