Enginerds. Plus trust me, these are far from the nerdiest lawyers. Law school profs would drive most normal people batty.

No, but they are invariably horrible people with no understanding of how the real world works.

Also, tort reform NOW.

Patent lawyers win this competition because they're a lot of times former engineers. Every one from law class also had aspergers and would talk you to death with the most nerdy law and science stuff you could imagine.

Oh please the worst lawyer in your town has more street smarts in his left nut than the best bean counter.

The reality we live in was/is created by lawyers (we live under laws created by lawyers), so I'd say that lawyers have a pretty good understanding of how the world works.

eta. Sorry that your ego can't handle the cognitive dissonance that comes with realizing the omnipresence of lawyers in nearly every societal institution.

Now run along and find another way to bring down the world economy!

The appointment will impact their job in some form or fashion. It is not an immediate impact but Supreme Court rulings are binding on all courts. So yes knowing how a future Justice will rule is important.

He's actually a nice guy, at least in the few times I've met him. I obviously make no representations as to whether he's a decent attorney, however

A lot of them are but not all of them.

Why do you think they're so content with attacking the private sector who creates jobs for an easy shake down of money?

It's needed badly.

Texas should be the model for this.

I was half serious about the first sentence. But given that my post was bit on harder than a beetlespin by Street Smarts professor, and some other guy making the Pillars of Society argument, I'd say we corroborated the thread's premise pretty nicely.

Spoken like a true 1L. Tell me more about Marbury v. Madison! Listen-- you'll learn more about the Commerce Clause in due time, little cuck. Good luck to you.

Oh boy, can't wait for other states to institute giveaways to the insurance lobby.

I hope you and your loved ones aren't hit by a lot of the bullshite tort reform has brought us.

Note, I have not a single cent of economic interest in torts. They don't affect my job.

This term has been beaten to death by this board more than Baws, truck nuts, and Germans combined.

Are you saying that lawyers aren't present in nearly every societal institution?

I feel like I read every day on this board that lawyers run everything
