This is actually a solid idea. Not unlike people that work at big banks that have restricted lists of stocks and mostly invest in funds and ETFs.

It’s cover. There will be a work around. But this at least gives them a way to say “see, we put in these rules”.

What about a system or plan like what Dick Cheney did with his vast holdings when he was VP, a blind trust?

You could force elected federal officials, and nominated executive posts, and federal judges to do the same.

Well in this case even selling mutual or equity fund would have saved them tons of money
