What makes someone "qualified" for diplomacy? Where in Robert McNamara's decade and a half as a Ford Moter Company executive did he become qualified to be Secretary of Defense? A lot of people come to Washington with no prior experiences in the job they are given. Some sink while others swim.
Ivanka Trump, while she has no experience as a diplomat, worked side by side with her father for years. Her father, being an international businessman, held meetings and made deals with men and women from all over the planet. Those kinds of meetings are actually very similar to international diplomacy.

I have no particular knowledge either way but curious about examples of said brilliant diplomatic work.
