I'm not seeing her carrying a state-wide election, even in NY. Upstate and Western are pretty conservative and I think those that live in the city would see her for the fool she is.

Don’t forget that someone has to be put in the slot to replace Nadler.
I am guessing that this is setting up the new wing of the democratic party vs the establishment set.
