The real solution is a pixel with grapheneOS.

It's based on Android but not Android. It's Android " like ".It's also made in Hong Kong.

I would be careful. Here’s an option from someone who can be trusted, Andrew Torba:
I’ve been researching and testing different devices for the “Gab Phone” for a long time. There are essentially two choices: an UnGoogled Pixel 4a phone with a custom version of Android (Graphene OS) that removes anything Google and comes preloaded with Gab or: a cheap security vulnerable smartphone made in China that is trash (like the Freedom Phone is.)
The custom version of Android without Google is open source so anyone can verify its additional privacy and security features and also confirm that everything Google has been removed. It works just like Android OS, only Google isn’t tracking your every move.
I can make a video and write a blog post teaching you how to make a “Gab Phone” at home yourself, but we can also just do it for you, preload Gab on it, and ship it to you for a fee. It will require a bunch of time on our end and I’m not sure the margin would be worth it or if we can even source enough devices to meet demand. So that’s where we are at on the R&D side of the “Gab Phone” concept. Would love any feedback. The goal of this idea isn’t to make a bunch of money, it’s to help free people from Apple and Google control.

WHO IS ERIK FINMAN? NET WORTH OF FREEDOM PHONE CREATOR AND ‘BITCOIN MILLIONAIRE’
22-year-old Finman is making major developments in the crypto-currency industry.
Growing up in Post Falls, outside of Coeur d’Alene, Idaho, Finman is the youngest out of three siblings. According to Business Insider, Finman first recognised the significance of Bitcoin at a protest following the 2008 financial crisis.
After delving into his own research surrounding crypto-currency, Finman used $1,000 from his grandmother, intended for his scholarship fund, to purchase around 100 bitcoins. At the time, each coin was worth an estimated $10 to $12.
In true millionaire fashion, Erik Finman dropped out of high school at just age 15 after selling $100,000 worth of bitcoin. He then went on to found an education startup, Botangle.
Just two years after setting up Botangle, Finman sold the company for 300 bitcoins and set off for a new venture. The now-17-year-old moved to Silicon Valley.
Still trading bitcoins, Erik hit millionaire status at just 18-years-old after bitcoin’s value crossed $2,700.
More recently, Finman announced the ‘Freedom Phone‘ – a device completely uncensored, promoting “free speech and privacy first.”

the Freedom Phone looks strikingly similar to a budget smartphone from a Chinese vendor called Umidigi. The device is called the Umidigi A9 pro, and you can buy it on the Chinese e-commerce site AliExpress starting at $119.

Finman later told The Daily Beast that the Freedom Phone was indeed sourced from Umidigi, a company that’s based in Shenzhen, China.

100% chance that activities in that phone are tracked beyond what your typical iPhone does.
It's probably got some unvalidated chinese chips in there with spyware and backdoors.

All cell phones lead to Shenzhen,China. Buy a pixel phone and follow the instructions from GrapheneOS.org

For the extra money you would think they would put some special design on it.

Right now the Freedom phone is a sham, if not an outright scam.
Wait there is something better coming...

Every phone should be a freedom phone

Supposedly it’s a cheap phone made in China. Build it in the USA and I’d consider it. I think Motorola had one several years back. I don’t think it did very well. Unfortunate.
