What's with the water colored digital camo? Never understood the point.
No shite. Deployed sailors at sea should be in something like highly visible hunter orange so you can be spotted if you fell overboard.
Nothing like camouflaging yourself to be located should that occur.

Adrian Cronauer agrees with you.

Best theory I've seen so far is that the emblem on the Jolly Roger flag could be a tap - as in tapping an underwater cable or a communication.

They're getting the PUC for sure. USS Halibut and USS Parche laid the groundwork... USS Jimmy Carter is the third generation of our first tier spy sub.
The history of those 2 subs is incredible. One can only imagine what JC has been up to recently.

My buddy is serving on a sub right now and he said it only rocks a lot when surfaced.

Nah, we had tons of psych test before. Also, a deployment wouldn't be a nubs (Non Useful Body unqualified shite) first underway. They didn't want some fresh nub pounding on the hatch while doing covert stuff.
We had plenty of guys "psych out" during our shipyard upkeep but nothing crazy while underway. Definitely no holding cell unless we strapped some shite heel to the turbines.

After looking at the picture more, there is a second impact point on the front of the sail. Normally that's where the Furuno retracts into the sail. It must've been jammed, hence them using the cylindrical Furuno on the mast.
JC doing work out there.

My dad was Navigator on USS Daniel Boone (SSBN). Submariners definitely have some stories...

I always wondered... on a sub such as The Jimmy Carter if Tiger Cruises were allowed?

Gee a metal sub rusts when it spends months on end in sea water? Who would have thought that?

I wonder if they are headed to dry dock?
Posted on 9/14/17 at 11:17 am to cajunangelle
It's probably just for morale purposes. That satellite rig is temporary anyway, the vessel is probably strictly being used on the surface at that point.
Posted on 9/14/17 at 11:17 am to austintigerdad
Looks like HUD built that sub.
