It's not about making your stuff safer, it's about making YOU safer. When those armed people show up to take your stuff, it's going to be people that know you. They know you have stuff, and they know that you don't have a gun. You also will know them, and that will be a problem for them, which makes it a problem for you .. a serious problem.
