At this particular point in time there will be absolutely nothing passed on anything ever, without some level of compromise or negotiation. It’s just a fact of life that most people find too inconvenient to their various rants and assertions to look into. So they ignore that fact and proceed right along as if the fact doesn’t exist. It’s an inconvenient truth. Rarely even is the Republican caucus in lockstep with their voting.

Again that is why it’s has come down to this. If democrats are not compromising but republicans roll over then how is compromising good ?

They compromised on the $3 trillion Build Back Better Bill. They did NOT vote in lockstep; and they did NOT ram it down our throats. They had the House, the Senate and the Presidency, and they could not get it done,
