If you can catch the replay of him presenting the trophy, it’s well worth it. Just happened.

Bravo, Louisville.

I can't remember politicians being booed in public before. This is a new phenomena to me, at least.

I’m pretty sure when men were still men politicians were expected to encounter worse. But, safe spaces and all...

Exactly this... in the old days, politicians could expect everything from rotten tomatoes to bullets flying their way...

It’s what kept them from doing the stupid shlt we see now.

Not advocating for voting based on draw speed but we’d have less politicians which would is a net gain.

To be fair, the KY conservatives on here claimed the republican candidate was so f'in bad, that you had to grab your nose and vote. Which meant the middle would not vote for him.

have to put up decent candidates, this putting up losers, and thinking they will win just because of R, is fading. People are tired of holding their nose and voting for their parties candidate

This take also massively understates the populist presence in Kentucky (+ West Virginia,North Carolina, parts of Ohio). Lots of "conservative" areas that are used to farm subsidies, Medicaid, etc paying the bills and voting in Democrat governors and Senators.

These people are socially and culturally "conservative" but align strongly with populism so the GOPe does everything possible to push them away. Same with Hispanics.

I think most voters would agree that a decent, middle-of-the-road candidate like Beshear is better than the populist social conservative INCUMBENT he beat.

Bevin was Trump's counterpart in Kentucky. Such fellows can capture a win here and there, when all voters aren't engaged, but never win on an consistent basis.

He should be. Living in Georgia and being in Kentucky the past week has felt like going back in time a year. His policies are BS. People here can’t believe that we’ve never had a mask mandate and that our restaurants are at full capacity.

I stand by my statement that while Kemp shite the bed during the 2020 election, he made a solid move by banning mask mandates and having Georgia be one of the last to close and first to open.

Whoever runs on the GOP ticket needs to hammer the restrictions home hard. If they can find a way to negate the teachers union, any viable candidate should have no problem getting that clown out of office.

Watching the NBC link in the OP, it seems to me NBC edited out the booing. I just watched it again on the DVR when it was live and could clearly hear it

The KY Governor’s race was a test drive for the 2020 election. It was “miraculously” close
