So they requested a secret order to spy on a member of Trump's campaign based on intel they received from someone who was PAID by Clinton and the DNC?

From the 4th paragraph:

No evidence has emerged that the surveillance was improper.

Holy frick.

I'm glad they were monitoring Page. He'll be convicted, too. Manafort's warrant netted a dozen felonies. Good work by the justice department.

Libitards can’t ever bitch or complain about government surveillance overreach again. You fricktards are okay with KGB style tactics then live with it no matter who wields it.

The government didn’t put any of the memos that comprise the dossier itself into its surveillance application, said people familiar with the matter. However, Mr. Steele spoke to the FBI twice after his findings on Mr. Trump during the 2016 campaign, and material gleaned from those interviews was included as part of the basis for surveillance of Mr. Page, these people said.

That's just another way of saying the dossier was used in the FISA application. Hillary Clinton = Chris Steele = Dossier.

While they simultaneously list improper surveillance in their own story.

One of the FISA warrants was initially rejected, but I think it was Manafort's.

Which makes no sense because Manafort had been under FISA surveillance since 2014. From CNN:

quote:

A secret order authorized by the court that handles the Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Act (FISA) began after Manafort became the subject of an FBI investigation that began in 2014. It centered on work done by a group of Washington consulting firms for Ukraine's former ruling party, the sources told CNN.

The surveillance was discontinued at some point last year for lack of evidence, according to one of the sources.

The FBI then restarted the surveillance after obtaining a new FISA warrant that extended at least into early this year.

So, we have Manafort under surveillance from 2014 until 2016 when the FBI claimed they had no evidence to continue the monitoring. He joins Trump's campaign in May of 2016 just AFTER they stopped surveillance. After the election, they get another warrant and monitor his calls to Trump from late 2016 through the early part of 2017.

Does this make sense to you? Remember this is from CNN. I know they are fake news, but I see no reason for them to lie in this case.

Keep in mind that the FBI approached Trump about Carter Page and said "Hey you might want to take a look at this guy." Shortly thereafter Trump fired him.

If they had Manafort under surveillance since 2014, why didn't Trump get the same warning about Manafort? Hmmmmmm? Could it be that the FBI simply wanted to use him to snoop on the campaign? Remember they quit monitoring him because of "lack of evidence." Suddenly when he joins Trump, they begin monitoring him again and give no warning to Trump.

And before you start in on "Trump picked him cuz of Russia" remember that Manafort has worked as a campaign consultant/manager for 30 years. He was part of Bob Dole and John McCain's campaigns (yes, John "muh Russia" McCain). If you are a Republican, Manafort is always a candidate to bring on board. It's standard. There is nothing unusual about a campaign using Manafort - he is a known entity around D.C.

to spy on Trump campaign aide, Carter Page, during the final days of the 2016 presidential election.
Pretty sure he quit a few months before the election. Or at least that was what the campaign claimed. Another part time coffee boy.
