I was on a jury once and we convicted this black guy for robbery and assault on a business owner who was walking to his vehicle after closing. The evidence was overwhelming and we came back with a 11/12 verdict. The one standout, a black girl, who no matter what, did not want to convict him. Never presented an argument for why she believes he was innocent. Was firm on her decision. Vote NO, guys.

I love all of you snowflakes feeling like they need to post their own threads for their own special little anecdotes

Jury would have hung. Could have been retried. It's not the same thing as an acquittal.

voted no, if you need unanimous jury then you're never getting a conviction

There are never any convictions in 48 other states and federal courts?

Expensive and unneeded.
10 out of 12 is enough leeway to ensure justice one way or the other.

That's what criminal lawyers like yourself rely on, that one SJW that would never convict regardless of the evidence.

Yeah, no.

I love all the “conservatives” on here who think the government would never try an innocent person. Ever. Inconceivable...

You fricking hypocrites

I am as conservative as a person could be. That is why I am voting Yes on this amendment.

Guilt should be beyond a reasonable doubt.

My wife has a similar story, which I have mentioned here before. Was talking about this to my Supv yesterday and he had a similar one as well.

Young black male shot someone, prints on the gun and gun powder on his hands. Jury was 5 black, 7 white and three of the blacks refused to move off their stance of not guilty. Finally one gave in. He then said something that surprised me, the defense attorney came into talk with them after and told them they did the right thing (ie: his client was guilty as hell). Were this change to pass that guy would have been back on the streets with the quickness.
