Unclear what form this 'protest' will take, probably safe to say more lawyers will get rich.

LINK

A challenge to the Defense Department’s award announced last month was widely expected by legal experts, analysts and consultants, especially after President Donald Trump publicly derided Amazon’s bid for the high-stakes contract.

Why, because they didn't get it?

Boeing did the same shite when Airbus won a contract in Mobile, said Mobile wasn't qualified to supply a workforce to make good airplanes.

How's the 737 max doing these days anyway?

From what I've been reading, there is concern that the revisions, repairs, etc. are being done too hurriedly for those concerned about safety.

More importantly Tiguar, how's the KC 46? It took Boeing forever, and it is still having problems. They are way behind, and over budget

Airbus had a proven design ready, and if the Obama Administration hadn't played politics because Alabama voted GOP the Air Force would have had tankers long ago.

Mobile would be rolling those tankers off the line. frick Patty Murray and the lying arse Washington delegation.

Microsoft didn't have experience on this type/size project. Amazon did.

I guess they want to see if anyone had their orange thumb on the scale.

bullshite.

Do you even have an ounce of understanding of who the major players in the cloud market are?

I'll give you a hint: one is just as big as Amazon. The one that won the contract.

But Microsoft has more potential. Experiences is not everything. They looked at Microsoft CV they saw all the volunteer work than Microsoft has been doing and a reference letter from the science teacher put them over the top. I frankly think Amazon just got too cocky thinking this is going to be their back up cloud contract and it showed in their interview

Amazon should just suck it up and not complain. The cloud contrac going to get over there with Peru and Ecuador is just as good.

And anyways in four years Amazon can reapply for the grad school cloud contract

Glad to see the lines drawn by ideology on yet another topic by both sides.

CIA (Amazon) versus Military Intelligence (MSFT).

You think he DoD wants to store their data on cloud servers controlled by the CIA (Amazon)? Hell no.

Typical asinine, know-nothing response from you. Read below and learn something.

Amazon Web Services continues to dominate a global cloud-infrastructure services industry that hit almost $70 billion last year, grabbing a market share equivalent to that of the next four public cloud providers combined
quote:

New numbers from Synergy Research Group show AWS’ share of market revenue climbed to about 35 percent in the fourth quarter of 2018, with Microsoft’s Azure business growing the fastest among the top players and pushing to more than 15 percent.

The decision was a surprise because Amazon had been considered the front-runner, in part because it had built cloud services for the Central Intelligence Agency. But that was before Mr. Trump became publicly hostile to Mr. Bezos, who also owns The Washington Post.

Guess Bezos should keep political hacks out of his business model if he wants a fair playing field when trying to get business from politicians? Amirite?

GTFO of here you fricking hack. You have zero, I repeat ZERO understanding of the market you're quoting here.

But please, link more articles written by journalists who have about as much understanding as you on the subject.

Amazon lost because MSFT could provide the same product, faster, with a proven track record with the DoD.
