It's a clear violation of the first amendment. Here's what Clay Travis said just now on Twitter:

quote:

Big tech companies all simultaneously reaching exact same decisions when it comes to banning individuals & businesses demands antitrust action. It’s monopolistic collusion, yes, but it also destroys marketplace of ideas & is a far bigger threat to the country than any individual.

quote:

The Chinese government restricts free speech on the internet, but big tech companies in the US are now so powerful — and colluding — that they have created monopolies which dictate which online speech is allowed. It should terrify anyone who cares about the marketplace of ideas.

quote:

In other words, the first amendment jurisprudence of the United States is predicated on the government not prohibiting speech. But the Internet has created such powerful companies that their power to restrict speech is now more all encompassing than the US government’s.

quote:

This shouldn’t be a partisan issue at all. The marketplace of ideas allows fringe ideas to win the battle of minds. It’s how our country evolves. Many liberal & conservative thoughts that are now ascendant were once fringe minority positions. Stifling that debate makes us China.

Yep. This is a slam dunk anti-trust case.

Standard Oil part 2.

The left owners of these companies are too stupid of history in their actions here.

You do realize the value of Standard Oil skyrocketed after it was forced to break up right?

He was sitting on his arse “monitoring the situation” for 3.5 years....this is something that should be viewed as unforgivable by Trump supporters.

Yep, not the point. Who cares about value?

It's about power.

They will remove their power to silence (1st amendment) in the market place or they will become public utilities (telephone service/internet providers).

There is way too much legal precedence here and to the person who said there is no standing, you're clueless ...

The modern day sabotage of the Tucker car seems to be relevant here.

It is not a violation of the 1st Amendment it is censorship it is bullshite it is communist authoritarian behavior.

They have not taken away your ability to speak and protest and they are not arresting anyone or jailing anyone for speech they don’t like.

Think of it like a billboard just because a billboard exists does not mean you get to write whatever you want on it. If the owner of the billboard does not support abortion they probably would not allow you to advertise for a clinic on the board. That is not a violation of your 1st Amendment rights.

You and I have and the other 80+ million that support Trump absolutely have the right to get off Twitter, Facebook, etc and no longer purchase Apple products and no longer utilize Amazon.

It's been a slam dunk for over a decade yet nothing happens. The big tech giants monopolies today are the biggest, most powerful, and most damaging monopolies that have ever existed.

Which makes that recent Executive Order so oddly powerful in this regard on asset confiscation ...

It shouldn't be but leftists have been duped into cheerleading the big corporations they once swore were the enemy.

Now you have young leftists idiots openly cheerleading the biggest, most powerful corporations on the planet.

It's neither a first amendment violation nor is it censorship.

You don't get to violate the terms of service of a platform and remain on it.

That’s one thing that really boggles my mind with leftist. They clamor they hate corporate capitalism and here they are actively supporting it

Platform is an interesting designation. Let’s see how you scumbags define that.
