Amazing watching this trump v desantis for president

You’re not wrong but if one hasn’t already firmly declared themselves Trump or DeSantis and subsequently declared the opposite camp as cuck-RINO, then you’re likely not going to get a lot of traction on this board right now.

The infighting has taken on a life of its own and it’s become bizarre entertainment.

We Republicans in general seem to ultimately find a way to snatch defeat from the jaws of victory.

Brandon (or Gavin) and the Socialists gaining another 4 years and you can pretty much stick a fork in it.

It’s primary season so we’ll see if the Mean Girls style Trump v DeSantis stuff eventually wears itself out ….but that’s probably not going to happen anytime soon.

I’ve cut back on my posting quite a bit. Generally content to watch the two sides tear each other apart and see who emerges triumphant.

You are absolutely right. This Trump/Desantis battle will doom both men. This fight should have and could have been avoided.

I mean Trump was running. No one ever doubted that. Right or wrong, he believes the Presidency was stolen from him. There was zero chance he wasn't going to run.

So knowing this, why would Desantis run? It makes zero practical sense and his campaign is a literal no win proposition. Even if he beats Trump, which is a steep uphill battle, what has he won?

Control of a deeply deeply divided party with no chance in the general.

Republicans overall have a slim chance to prevail and that's if 100% united.

Divided is zero chance and the Democrats and media know this.

Democrats want this Republican battle going into the summer of 2024 and they will manipulate things they control like the legal system and media to make sure that happens.

You people keep debating this like it's a right or wrong issue.

This is politics and that is the lens you need to view this issue.

Trump was always running it doesn't matter if that's right or if it's wrong it's just reality.

Given that fact it made no sense for DeSantis to run. This will prove to be true.

Politically it was a bad decision that doomed his outcome.

The smart decision would have been to watch Trump go down in flames from the sideline and pick up the flag when that happened without alienating 35 or 40% that are only Trump.

And many of the people that pushed DeSantis to run are only interested in stopping Trump. They do not care if DeSantis loses the general. They are fine with Biden or any Democrat as long as they stop Trump.

This made me chuckle
