and ratings will not dip that much. NFL teams play in big cities that are mostly liberal. They will keep watching.

The rural south isn't a huge supporter of the NFL anyway and this is where the protesting is the biggest issue.

In most NFL cities a big part of their following comes from the burbs.

I don't care too much either way, I'm just saying.

They dipped enough in 2016 to raise major concerns among the networks and sponsors.

Any further dip would exacerbate an already existing problem.

It's going to mirror the voting results from the election. It'll certainly drop noticeably.

That's because people realize their teams suck. Right now everyone "has a chance"

Nah. The four teams in the southeast are what is keeping the NFL afloat right now. Without the thousands of dollars they bring in, the NFL is done.

So you think liberals are the primary NFL fan base?

Look at Los Angeles, look at San Francisco.

Stadiums about as empty as possible.

They are biting the hands that feed them. You think we can't take their taxpayer funded subsidies away?

It's more than that and I do think there's a chance that ratings will be impacted in the near term. But the fact of the matter is that fans aren't going anywhere long term--at least not over this. Either the players will lose interest and the protests will fade, or there will be a smattering of players for whom this becomes the new norm and people will simply stop noticing.

Yes, and Donald Trump will never be president.
