I don't disagree, but would you unpack that one a bit more for us?

Sure, but there were years in his presidency the deficits had reached unprecedented levels at the time, $400B-$500B. And his admin conveniently omitted the cost of his wars in calculating expenditures and debt.

2004 was $412B. So in three years they wiped off $252B of a (one year) $412B deficit. Turrible. Just Turrible.

With enactment of the FY2014Consolidated Appropriations Act on January 1, 2014 (H.R. 3547/P.L. 113-73), Congress has approved appropriations for the past 13 years of war that total $1.6 trillion for military operations, base support, weapons maintenance, training of Afghan and Iraq security forces, reconstruction, foreign aid, embassy costs, and veterans’ health care for the war operations initiated since the 9/11 attacks.
Six years of those expenditures came under Obama...

Counting inflation (that we created) the “real” number is a little lower, but absolutely crazy.

Someone with more time then me can probably breakdown what % of the debt goes to pork, foreign aid, and politicians.

I would bet we could easily have had a balanced budget.
