This is a sign the general membership strongly supports Trump.

No way he'd say something like this otherwise.

I also heard it as the Membership was independent enough that he could not control their vote for the President and he might as well join them

AFL-CIO Open to Endorsing Trump in 2020 LINK /

The unions have become completely discombobulated since the 2016 election. I still get a national union publication from the CWA and they don't know how to attack Trump because he's actually helped some of the unions and it's screwed up there messaging and talking points.

The unions hated all the international trade agreements such as NAFTA and TPP so Trump screwed up their talking points on that front. They also were completely against illegal immigration and now the Dims have the unions supporting mass amnesty which undercuts their bitching over stagnant wage growth....., they seriously can't find their azzes with both hands.

Then half of this board will shite a brick. They despise unions.

Even the most anti-union people really only care about the political favoritism they've been shown at the expense of the American worker and taxpayer.

When no one is forced to join one just to work and when the taxpayer isn't fleeced to bail out bad leadership, no one would give a shite about them.

Except public sector unions - kill those parasites with fire.

Considering that Trump is all about bringing manufacturing jobs back to the Rust Belt......might be a good fricking idea.

What have the Democrats done for you lately?

I can see some Unions in the AFL-CIO supporting Trump, but I doubt the entire AFL-CIO endorses Trump. It would literally split the AFL-CIO apart, which I suspect is Trump's agenda. Weaken the labor movement even more via Supreme Court and splitting it.

Honestly, more damage would be come from within unions. I can see the Trotskyists within Unions using this as an opportunity to push their agenda forward within Unions which would make things worse.

Trumka is not endorsing Trump over the DNC candidate. I’ve followed his tweets and articles the last year and he’s about 25/75 pointing out things he agrees with and bitching at trump for things he doesn’t like. About half the time the things he doesn’t like are actually economically good for unions (like immigration)

He will endorse Trump if it means he gets his money back somehow lost from union dues.
